DUI/DWI clients that are involved in drug rehabilitation centers are either there on their own accord, but generally in alcohol and drug rehab as part of a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders may be required to go to rehab either in lieu of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been determined that those who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have greater odds of remaining out of the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which set off their substance abuse. This may certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their drug abuse when they drive while under the influence in the foreseeable future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
