Outpatient treatment gives rehabilitation clients the ability to maintain specific obligations and aspects of their lifestyle while getting involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation services. Outpatient treatment is a moderate degree of treatment, and should not be mistaken for the level of treatment offered in an inpatient or residential treatment setting that is significantly more extensive. Outpatient treatment may be ideal for somebody who has a brief history of drug or alcohol use for example, but will almost certainly not be sufficient for an individual whose rehabilitation needs go beyond that which outpatient treatment is able to provide. In outpatient treatment, individuals can take advantage of group and individual therapy, in addition to family counseling services. In outpatient treatment, most centers offer services 6 or 7 days a week on either a part time or full time schedule for 30 days or longer in some cases.
