DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug treatment facilities are generally there on their own accord, but usually in alcohol and drug rehabilitation as part of a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders might be required to go to rehabilitation either in place of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab as an alternative to being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that people who are treated for substance abuse issues instead of other penalties being forced upon them have greater odds of remaining out from the courts than those people who are fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these issues in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use. This may certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use if they drive while intoxicated in the future. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
