Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of alcohol and drug treatment program as a result of a drug or alcohol related crime. This can occur for example if a person is found guilty of driving under the influence or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related offense which has led a legal court to think the individual has any type of drug abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug rehab facility as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered by the court it's strongly advised that the individual do everything they're able to to make the most of this chance. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences may be completely eradicated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in treatment and finishes the drug rehab program which has been ordered for them. First-time offenders would be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients who do take part in rehabilitation in place of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to prison time or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients obtain powerful treatment.
