DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in alcohol and drug rehab centers are generally there by their own choice, but most of the time in alcohol and drug rehabilitation as part of a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders might be required to go to rehab either instead of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from treatment as opposed to being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that those who are treated for substance abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have greater chances of staying out of the court system than people who find themselves fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In drug rehab programs DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which set off their drug abuse. This may truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug abuse if they drive while intoxicated in the future. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
