DUI/DWI clients that are taking part in drug treatment facilities are either there on their own accord, but generally in alcohol and drug treatment due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders could be ordered to treatment either instead of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that people who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better odds of staying out from the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug treatment facilities DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these issues in order to find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their substance abuse. This can truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their substance abuse if they drive while drunk or high in the foreseeable future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
