Criminal justice clients are those who are in any type of drug rehabilitation center as a result of a drug or alcohol related offense. This will occur for instance when someone is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, and for any other type of drug related criminal offense which has led a legal court to think that the individual has any type of drug abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug rehab facility as a criminal justice client, but if this approach is ordered through the court it is strongly advised that the individual do everything they can to take full advantage of this chance. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences may be totally eradicated or lessened if the individual succeeds in treatment and completes the drug and alcohol rehabilitation program that has been ordered for them. First time offenders are the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients who do experience rehab in lieu of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to incarceration or similar consequences. Ultimately, it saves a legal court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehabilitation.
