DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug treatment centers are either there by their own choice, but more often than not in drug rehab due to a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders may be required to go to treatment either instead of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been verified that individuals who are treated for substance abuse issues instead of other penalties being forced upon them have greater odds of staying out of the court system than those who are fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In alcohol and drug treatment centers DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to be able to address these issues in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This can certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be affected by their drug or alcohol use should they drive while under the influence in the foreseeable future. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
