Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of drug and alcohol rehabilitation program due to a drug or alcohol related offense. This will happen for example if someone else is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other type of drug related criminal offense that has led a legal court to believe the individual has any kind of drug abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered from the judge it's well advised that the individual try everything they're able to to benefit from this chance. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences can be totally eliminated or lessened if the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and completes the drug and alcohol treatment program which was ordered for them. New offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients that take part in treatment in lieu of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to incarceration or receive other penalties.
