DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been proven that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as an alternative to other penalties being forced upon them have much better odds of staying out of the courts than those who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug rehab facilities DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use. This will certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use if they drive while under the influence in the foreseeable future.
