DUI/DWI clients who are involved in drug rehab facilities are either there by their own choice, but usually in drug and alcohol rehab as part of a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders could be ordered to rehab either instead of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab as an alternative to being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have greater chances of staying out from the court system than those who find themselves fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In drug rehab centers DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, in order to address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This will certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug abuse if they drive while drunk or high in the foreseeable future. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
