DUI/DWI clients that are taking part in drug rehab programs are generally there on their own accord, but more often than not in drug treatment as part of a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders may be ordered to rehab either in lieu of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation as an alternative to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have much better chances of staying out from the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug and alcohol rehab facilities DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which prompt their substance abuse. This can certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use whenever they drive while under the influence down the road. This is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
