Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any sort of drug and alcohol treatment facility because of alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This can occur for example if someone is found guilty of driving under the influence or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related offense which has led a legal court to think that the individual has any sort of drug abuse issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug treatment center as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered by the judge it is wise that the individual do everything they can to get the most from this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences may be completely eradicated or lessened if the individual does well in rehabilitation and finishes the alcohol and drug rehabilitation program which has been ordered for them. First time offenders would be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients who do take part in rehabilitation instead of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to prison time or similar consequences. Eventually, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehab.
