DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug rehabilitation programs are either there on their own accord, but most of the time in drug and alcohol rehabilitation as part of a mandated court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders may be required to go to rehab either instead of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab as opposed to being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues as an alternative to other penalties being forced upon them have far better chances of remaining out from the courts than those who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to be able to address these issues and find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This will truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be affected by their drug or alcohol use when they drive while under the influence later on. This is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
