Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of drug rehab program due to a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This will occur for example if someone is found guilty of driving under the influence or DWI, or any other type of drug related crime that has led the judge to think the individual has any sort of drug or alcohol use issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered from the judge it is wise that the individual do everything they are able to to get the most from this opportunity. In many cases, other penalties and consequences can be entirely eradicated or lessened when the individual succeeds in treatment and completes the drug and alcohol treatment facility which was ordered for them. Very first time offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients who do take part in rehabilitation in place of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to incarceration or similar consequences. In the end, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients receive effective rehabilitation.
