DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in alcohol and drug treatment facilities are either there on their own accord, but more often than not in drug and alcohol rehab due to a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, particularly first-time offenders might be required to go to rehabilitation either in lieu of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been proven that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have far better chances of staying out of the court system than those who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug rehab facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these issues in order to find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which trigger their substance abuse. This may certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be affected by their drug abuse should they drive while intoxicated in the future. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
