Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any sort of alcohol and drug rehabilitation center because of alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This can occur for example if someone else is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other type of drug related offense which has led the judge to believe that the individual has any type of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug rehabilitation program as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered by the judge it's strongly advised that the individual do everything they are able to to take full advantage of this opportunity. In many cases, other penalties and consequences can be entirely eradicated or lessened in the event the individual does well in treatment and completes the alcohol and drug rehabilitation center that has been ordered for them. Very first time offenders would be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients who do experience rehabilitation in place of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to incarceration or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive effective rehabilitation.
