Outpatient treatment gives rehab clients the ability to sustain certain responsibilities and aspects of their lifestyle while getting involved in drug and alcohol rehabilitation services. Outpatient treatment is a moderate level of rehab, and should not be mistaken for the amount of rehab provided within an inpatient or residential rehab setting which is significantly more intensive. Outpatient treatment might be well suited for a person who has a short history of drug or alcohol use for instance, but will almost certainly not be sufficient for someone whose rehabilitation needs go beyond that which outpatient treatment is prepared to offer. Individuals involved in drug and alcohol use often need a considerable environmental change, because most of the things which trigger their drug and alcohol use are purely environmental. For example, if a person has been physically or psychologically mistreated and this is prompting their substance abuse, it's impossible for any rehab endeavours to achieve success should they go back to such conditions on a regular basis. In outpatient treatment, clients can benefit from group and one-on-one counseling, along with family therapy services. In outpatient treatment, most centers will provide services six or seven days each week on either a part time or full-time basis for four weeks or longer in some instances.
