DUI/DWI clients who are involved in drug treatment facilities are either there by their own choice, but generally in alcohol and drug rehabilitation due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders could be required to go to treatment either in lieu of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab as opposed to being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been verified that those who are treated for substance abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have far better odds of staying out from the courts than those who are fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which set off their drug abuse. This will certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their substance abuse when they drive while drunk or high later on. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
