DUI/DWI clients that are taking part in drug and alcohol rehab centers are either there on their own accord, but more often than not in drug and alcohol rehabilitation as part of a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders might be required to go to rehab either instead of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have greater chances of staying out of the court system than those who find themselves fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, so that they can address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This will certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their drug abuse when they drive while drunk or high in the future. This is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
