DUI/DWI clients who are taking part in drug rehabilitation facilities are either there on their own accord, but generally in drug rehab as part of a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders might be required to go to treatment either in place of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have greater chances of staying out of the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances in their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use. This can truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use should they drive while under the influence down the road. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
