Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any type of alcohol and drug rehab facility because of alcohol or drug related offense. This can occur for example when someone is convicted of a DUI or DWI, and for any other type of drug related crime that has led a legal court to think the individual has any type of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered through the judge it's well advised that the individual do everything they can to get the most from this chance. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eradicated or lessened in the event the individual does well in rehabilitation and finishes the drug rehab center which has been ordered for them. First-time offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients who experience rehabilitation instead of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to incarceration or similar consequences. In the long run, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients receive effective rehabilitation.
