Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of drug treatment center on account of a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This will happen for instance when someone is convicted of a DUI or DWI, and for any other type of drug related crime that has led the judge to think the individual has any kind of substance abuse issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in a drug treatment center as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered from the judge it's strongly advised that the individual try everything they are able to to make the most of this opportunity. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences may be entirely eradicated or lessened if the individual succeeds in rehab and finishes the alcohol and drug treatment center that is ordered for them. First-time offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients that do take part in treatment instead of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to jail time or receive other penalties. Eventually, it saves a legal court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive effective rehabilitation.
