Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility as a result of alcohol or drug related offense. This will happen for example if a person is found guilty of a DUI or DWI, or any other type of drug related crime which has led the court to think that the individual has any type of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug rehab program as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered through the judge it is strongly advised that the individual try everything they're able to to benefit from this chance. In many cases, other penalties and consequences can be completely eliminated or lessened when the individual does well in rehabilitation and finishes the alcohol and drug rehabilitation program that has been ordered for them. New offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients that do experience treatment in lieu of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to prison time or similar consequences. In the long run, it saves a legal court system both time and money when criminal justice clients receive powerful rehab.
