Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any kind of drug rehab program because of a drug or alcohol related crime. This will happen for example if someone else is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, or any other kind of drug related criminal offense which has led the court to believe the individual has any sort of drug or alcohol use issue. Not everybody has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol treatment program as a criminal justice client, however, if this approach is ordered from the court it is wise that the individual do everything they are able to to benefit from this chance. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences may be entirely eliminated or lessened when the individual succeeds in rehab and completes the alcohol and drug rehab center that is ordered for them. First time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients who do experience rehab in lieu of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to incarceration or receive other penalties. In the end, it saves a legal court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients receive powerful treatment.
