Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any type of drug rehabilitation center as a result of a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This will occur for example if someone else is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other type of drug related offense that has led a legal court to think that the individual has any sort of drug or alcohol use issue. Not everyone has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug rehab program as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered through the judge it is well advised that the individual do everything they are able to to make the most of this chance. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences may be completely eliminated or lessened when the individual does well in rehabilitation and completes the drug rehab facility that has been ordered for them. New offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients who do experience rehabilitation in place of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to incarceration or similar consequences. In the end, it saves a legal court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain powerful treatment.
