DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers are either there on their own accord, but most of the time in drug and alcohol treatment due to a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders might be required to go to treatment either instead of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehabilitation as an alternative to being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that those who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have greater chances of remaining out from the court system than those who are fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug treatment programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which trigger their substance abuse. This will certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be affected by their drug abuse whenever they drive while under the influence in the foreseeable future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
