DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug and alcohol rehab centers are generally there on their own accord, but more often than not in alcohol and drug rehab due to a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders might be required to go to rehabilitation either in lieu of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been established that those who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have much better chances of staying out from the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In alcohol and drug treatment facilities DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which set off their substance abuse. This could certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their drug abuse whenever they drive while under the influence in the foreseeable future. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
