DUI/DWI clients who are taking part in drug and alcohol rehab centers are either there by their own choice, but most of the time in drug and alcohol rehabilitation due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders could possibly be required to go to treatment either instead of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation rather than being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have greater odds of remaining out of the court system than those who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug rehab centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these problems and find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which set off their substance abuse. This can truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be affected by their drug or alcohol use if they drive while drunk or high down the road. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
