Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any sort of drug rehabilitation program because of alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This will occur for example when someone is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, and for any other kind of drug related offense that has led a legal court to believe the individual has any type of substance abuse issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol rehab facility as a criminal justice client, however, if this option is ordered through the court it is strongly advised that the individual try everything they can to make the most of this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences might be totally eradicated or lessened when the individual does well in treatment and completes the drug and alcohol treatment center that has been ordered for them. First-time offenders are the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients that take part in rehab instead of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to jail time or similar consequences. In the end, it saves the court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehabilitation.
