Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of drug treatment facility on account of a drug or alcohol related crime. This can occur for instance if someone is found guilty of a DUI or DWI, or any other kind of drug related criminal offense that has led the court to believe that the individual has any sort of substance abuse issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug treatment facility as a criminal justice client, but when this approach is ordered by the court it is strongly advised that the individual do everything they're able to to benefit from this chance. In many cases, other penalties and consequences could be totally eliminated or lessened if the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and finishes the drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility which was ordered for them. New offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients who experience treatment in lieu of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to prison time or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves the court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients receive effective rehabilitation.
