Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any type of drug and alcohol treatment center as a result of a drug or alcohol related offense. This can occur for instance if someone else is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related crime that has led a legal court to believe that the individual has any sort of drug abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol treatment program as a criminal justice client, but if this approach is ordered through the judge it's wise that the individual do everything they can to take full advantage of this opportunity. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences can be entirely eradicated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in treatment and completes the drug treatment facility that is ordered for them. First time offenders are the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients that experience treatment instead of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to prison time or receive other penalties. In the end, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients receive powerful rehabilitation.
