DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities are generally there on their own accord, but generally in drug and alcohol rehabilitation due to a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders could be required to go to rehabilitation either instead of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have much better chances of remaining out of the court system than those who find themselves fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In drug rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these problems and find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use. This may certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their substance abuse when they drive while intoxicated later on. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
