DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug rehab programs are either there by their own choice, but more often than not in drug and alcohol rehab due to a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders might be required to go to rehabilitation either in lieu of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab as an alternative to being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been determined that those who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have far better odds of remaining out of the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug treatment programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these problems and find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which set off their substance abuse. This will certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be affected by their substance abuse when they drive while under the influence in the foreseeable future. This is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
