DUI/DWI clients who are taking part in drug treatment centers are generally there on their own accord, but most of the time in drug treatment due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders could be ordered to rehab either in lieu of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from treatment as opposed to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been proven that those who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better odds of remaining out from the courts than those who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug treatment facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these issues and find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which set off their substance abuse. This can truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use if they drive while drunk or high in the future.
