DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug treatment centers are either there by their own choice, but more often than not in drug rehabilitation as part of a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, particularly first-time offenders could be ordered to rehabilitation either in place of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehabilitation rather than being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that those who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have greater odds of remaining out of the courts than those who are fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In drug rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, so that they can address these problems and find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which trigger their substance abuse. This will certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their drug abuse whenever they drive while drunk or high in the future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
