Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any sort of drug rehabilitation program because of alcohol or drug related crime. This can occur for example if someone is convicted of driving under the influence or DWI, and for any other kind of drug related criminal offense that has led a legal court to think that the individual has any kind of drug or alcohol use issue. Not everyone has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol treatment center as a criminal justice client, however, if this approach is ordered from the court it's wise that the individual try everything they're able to to take full advantage of this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eradicated or lessened when the individual does well in treatment and finishes the alcohol and drug treatment facility that is ordered for them. First time offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients who do take part in rehab in place of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to time in jail or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves a legal court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients receive powerful rehab.
