DUI/DWI clients who are taking part in drug rehab facilities are either there on their own accord, but generally in drug rehabilitation due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders may be required to go to rehabilitation either instead of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have much better odds of staying out of the courts than those people who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these issues and find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances in their lives which set off their drug abuse. This can truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their drug or alcohol use if they drive while under the influence later on. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
