DUI/DWI clients that are involved in drug rehabilitation facilities are generally there on their own accord, but more often than not in drug treatment due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders might be required to go to rehabilitation either in lieu of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been established that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have much better odds of staying out from the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In drug and alcohol rehab facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This could certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their drug abuse if they drive while drunk or high in the foreseeable future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
