DUI/DWI clients that are taking part in drug rehabilitation facilities are either there on their own accord, but most of the time in drug and alcohol rehab as part of a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders might be ordered to rehabilitation either instead of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from treatment rather than being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have far better odds of remaining out from the court system than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, so that they can address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances in their lives which set off their drug or alcohol use. This can certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use if they drive while intoxicated down the road. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
