DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in alcohol and drug rehab centers are generally there by their own choice, but generally in drug and alcohol rehabilitation as part of a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders may be required to go to rehab either instead of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehabilitation as an alternative to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been established that people who are treated for drug abuse issues instead of other penalties being forced upon them have much better chances of staying out of the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which set off their drug abuse. This could truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use if they drive while drunk or high in the foreseeable future. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
