DUI/DWI clients who are involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities are either there by their own choice, but most of the time in drug rehab as part of a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders might be required to go to treatment either instead of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been determined that those who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as an alternative to other penalties being enforced upon them have much better chances of staying out of the courts than those who are fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug treatment centers DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these issues in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which set off their drug abuse. This can truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their drug or alcohol use whenever they drive while intoxicated down the road. This is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
