DUI/DWI clients that are involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers are either there by their own choice, but generally in alcohol and drug rehab as part of a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders could be required to go to rehabilitation either in place of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehabilitation rather than being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been verified that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues instead of other penalties being forced upon them have much better chances of remaining out of the court system than those who find themselves fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In drug and alcohol rehab programs DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, in order to address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This will certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use should they drive while under the influence later on. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
