Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of drug and alcohol rehabilitation center because of a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This will occur for example if someone is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other type of drug related crime that has led the judge to think that the individual has any kind of drug or alcohol use issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in a drug rehabilitation program as a criminal justice client, however, if this option is ordered through the judge it really is strongly advised that the individual do everything they can to take full advantage of this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences could be totally eliminated or lessened when the individual succeeds in treatment and finishes the alcohol and drug rehabilitation program which was ordered for them. New offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients that do experience rehabilitation in lieu of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to jail time or receive other penalties. Ultimately, it saves a legal court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain powerful rehab.
