DUI/DWI clients that are involved in drug rehabilitation facilities are generally there on their own accord, but most of the time in drug rehab due to a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders might be ordered to rehab either in place of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been established that those who are treated for drug abuse issues rather than other penalties being enforced upon them have much better odds of staying out from the courts than those people who are fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these problems and find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their substance abuse. This will truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use when they drive while under the influence in the foreseeable future. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
