DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug rehab centers are generally there on their own accord, but most of the time in alcohol and drug rehabilitation as part of a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders may be required to go to rehabilitation either in lieu of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from treatment as opposed to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better chances of staying out from the court system than those who are fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In alcohol and drug treatment facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, so that they can address these issues in order to find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances in their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This could certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use if they drive while intoxicated in the foreseeable future. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
