DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug treatment centers are generally there on their own accord, but more often than not in alcohol and drug rehabilitation due to a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders could be ordered to rehabilitation either in lieu of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehabilitation as opposed to being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been verified that those who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues instead of other penalties being forced upon them have much better odds of remaining out of the courts than those people who are fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In drug and alcohol rehab programs DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to be able to address these problems and find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which set off their drug or alcohol use. This could truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use if they drive while drunk or high down the road. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
