DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug rehab facilities are generally there on their own accord, but generally in drug and alcohol treatment due to a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders might be ordered to rehab either instead of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation as opposed to being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that those who are treated for substance abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have greater odds of staying out of the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to be able to address these problems and find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which set off their substance abuse.
