DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders might be ordered to rehabilitation either in lieu of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab as opposed to being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the judicial system. This may truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their substance abuse when they drive while drunk or high later on.
