DUI/DWI clients that are taking part in drug rehab centers are generally there on their own accord, but most of the time in drug and alcohol rehabilitation as part of a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders might be ordered to treatment either in place of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from treatment instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been verified that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have much better odds of staying out from the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug rehab facilities DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their substance abuse.
